Ingredients
Original recipe makes 6 dozen
1 1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
3 cups flaked coconut
Directions
1-Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2-In a medium bowl, cream together the white sugar , butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add in the vanilla. Mix together the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and coconut. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
3-Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
